Why do you fear, and try to disappear, when you’ve got nothing to hide?

I’m straightening my hair for church. Did you know, [prolly not] that from getting out of the shower to finishing fixing my hair, if I was straightening it, it would take about two and a half hours? My hair is HUGE. It takes forever to fix it. It’s annoying. But it’ll look good tomorrow, God willing. Oh… I made a funny…

For Joel’s b-day we all went to Beavers Bend and canoed [so it was kinda like everyone’s birthday]. It was a blast. But hey all you kids, listen to this, ok? I know that you know everything and no one understands you [except Betsy] and your Parents never had to go through what you’re going through right now, but when it comes to sunscreen, listen to your parents. My knees are about the color of a very ripe tomato and they hurt like crazy. I won’t say anything else ‘cause I don’t want to sound like a wimp. [Teehee] Man it hurts though, but we had a ton of fun. I’m not really an outdoor person until I get outdoors [duh] and then I’m all “Give me a coonskin cap and a pistol… eh...” And Dad and I and Josiah never tipped our canoe. I’m proud.

I’ve been listening to “I’m getting nuttin for Christmas” by Relient K all day. It’s really weird, but it cracks me up. I love their Christmas album because you can tell they just had so much fun with it. They didn’t just play the songs and record them, they made it fun. I love the way they stayed themselves. I mean most other bands are all “we’re so cool” but they stayed real. It’s neat.

Annnnd once again I had more to say and forgot it. DARN YOU LITTLE THINGS INSIDE MY HEAD THAT MAKE ME FORGET STUFF! This post was a lot shorter then I wanted it to be. >[

Ok, here are the lyrics to a song that my Dad and I love. Well, my Mom loves it too… It’s actually country, one of the only country songs I like, and I love it because it’s so like our family. Well, maybe not the gun part, well then again with some of the guys I know, maybe so. So without further ado, Cleaning This Gun by Rodney Atkins.

The declaration of independence

Think I can tell you that first sentence

But then I'm lost

I can't begin to count the theories

I had pounded in my head that I forgot

I don't remember all that Spanish

Or the Gettysburg address

But there is one speech from high school

I'll never forgot

Come on in boy, sit on down

And tell me 'bout yourself

So you like my daughter, do you now

Yeah we think she's something else

She's her daddy's girl and her mama's world

She deserves respect, that's what

She’ll get, ain't it son

Now y'all run along and have some fun

I'll see you when you get back

Probably be up all night

Still cleaning this gun

Well now that I'm a father

I'm scared to death one day my

Daughter gonna find

That teenage boy I used to be

Who seems to have just one thing on his mind

She's growing up so fast it won't be long

'fore I'll have to put the fear of god

Into some kid at the door

It's all for show, ain't nobody gonna get hurt

It's just a daddy thing, hey

Believe me man, it works

When I meet “the guy” for me he’d better become best friends with my Dad [you too Mom] or I’m kicking his puny butt outta my life. Just… to let ya’ll know…

    Hey Girl!

I posted the canoe trip photos to my piacasa albums if you'd like to go see them. They aren't great, seeing as how it was a dumb camera and the boat was always rocking back and forth, but at least we have them for memories!!
