Crash

AHHHH! Hannah is 16! Omigosh that is the weirdest thing ever. She’s on her way here at the moment and I’m completely expecting her to walk through the door and I won’t even recognize the gorgeous woman who greets me. Of course, she won’t be any different, only the sly smile on her mouth will show that she has changed, and she will have only changed in mind and thought, but all the same I will see her differently. Not in a bad way differently, but differently. I will do the same thing to Mackenna, and maybe they will do the same to me. It’s like the passing of a giant test; I have survived and have a number to show for it. I lived life and made it this far, look at my cool medal. You don’t really see how fast life is until you turn 16 and then it’s like, whoa… slow down Nellie, give me some time to live before I’m grown and old and fastened to a wheelchair. I think people get so caught up in doing stuff and getting better and winning and completing and gaining, that we don’t realize that we are just fading, we should be surviving and we are only dying. It’s actually pretty sad. Slow down guys, live a little. And Hannah, now that you are 16 you can start living life on the highway. But, please keep within the speed limit… =}

Thanksgiving was great, mom and I ran in the 33rd annual Turkey Trot, a 5k run and it was fun stuff. then we went home, and took showers and blasted to my grandparents, breaking the speed limit a total of 4 times, and never getting caught[that’s the point], and we pulled in as they were calling all the kids in to eat so we were saved a lecture about being late. Hehe. I actually didn’t take very many pictures, maybe 6? But I’ll make a Holidays album on Picasa when I have time. Mostly they’re of me and my cousins. All my cute little cousins. I only have one cousin that’s my age, all the others are either under the age of 9 or away in college. Yeah, and Kerri lives in Georgia part time so I’m pretty much hanging with the little kiddos, but hey, I have noooo problem with that. Little kids don’t have drama any bigger than “It’s MY turn with the stick!” so it works out pretty well. :> We started a tradition [??] yesterday of the Family Kickball game. I think we’re gonna keep doing it. Prolly every year. It was a blast! My team totally won, but playing kickball in a field that hasn’t been mowed in over 4 years is a tiny bit difficult, so we didn’t really keep track. You know the best part about thanksgiving? Sneaking back into the kitchen after lunch and pigging out on all the leftover food, turkey, ham, and that awesome God-sent green bean casserole. Thank the lord for that crispy onion covered gunk.

The Hiens are in!! I’m sitting in the living room typing and everyone is talking around me. You remember? I how I’m into the whole being surrounded by people and not having to talk to any of them? Yupp, this is it. Amazing stuff. I can hear Anna talking about Ben and joey’s hair and dainel is running his fingers through his and still I’m writing away. Clickety-clickety-click. Andrew is on his Dell in the chair next to me and he’s writing too, maybe I should e-mail him and ask him what he’s writing… hmmm…

I’ve got more to talk about but Hannah is almost here and it’s hard to write sitting on a couch with my long arms.

Happy hollydays

[fun with Picasa]
