So you wanna get the best of me?

Perspective – 1. A particular evaluation of a situation or facts especially from one persons point of view.

Life is about perspective. I mean think about it… if we just went around thinking of what I think, how I feel, we would never get anywhere! We use perspective daily. Numerous times a day! Especially around Christmas. Buying gifts, we’re always putting ourselves into other people’s shoes to attempt to see their reaction to the certain gift you might be staring at, contemplating if it’s “just right”. Where would we be without perspective? Life is perspective.  And you could have a perspective on that. I find myself all the stinking time contemplating what that person is feeling, how that person is reacting, all the time! Perspective I guess. I love putting myself in other people shoes, how might they feel about this? Wal-Mart is my favorite store right now, only because of the people. I love perspective-ing them! It’s like… great sport to me to pay close attention to certain people. To try to figure out how they are feeling,  that they might be thinking, how they are reacting. It’s always adults though… teenagers are absolutely no fun. They hide all their feelings and emotions behind gobs of makeup or a spiffy hat. You can’t ever tell exactly what their thinking. Also, they give off an enormous depressed sense of being. Always. Every one. In trying to hide emotion, they look disheartened, miserable, dejected, unhappy. I hope I never become that. God, please don’t let me ever turn into that.

Perspective - 2. A measured or objective assessment of a situation, giving all aspects their comparative importance.

An assessment. That is perfect. Exactly what I’m thinking.

No more time to write on this but believe me when I say...

There’s lots more where that came from baby.

Awesome. Trying to see the other's point of view and imagining "walking in their shoes" not only helps define perspective, it will also allow you to build a deeper relationship with your fellow (wo)man and it's a tremendous help in setting the tone when communicating with people too!

I too love "perspective-ing" (new word?) when I walk about the world! Walmart, airports, elevators, parties, at work, etc. - all great places to ponder/wonder how "others might be seeing things.."

You are wise above your years, girl. What a treasure.

    Love,
