Ugh. Sickness sucks. This morning at basketball practice Mackenna told me I smelled like coffee…and sickness. Great. Now it’s got its filthy claws sunk so deep in me that I SMELL like sickness. Great! I had a sinus infection last week, coughing, sneezing, headache and snot snot snot. And the last Friday I caught a stomach virus that kept me from doing all sorts of fun planned things, like eating a pie my mom made, going to see The Breakfast Blend with my friends[Sorry guys but because of what the name implies and because of the fact that your first gig was at a coffee house, I will always and forever think and have need of coffee when I hear your name], going to enrichment classes on Monday, and not getting to play the whole game against Grayson on Tuesday. Sickness SUCKS! I was up every hour on the dot on Friday night, and I spent the entire weekend on the couch sipping water and eating cheerios. And then to make things worse I thought myself cured too soon and overloaded my weak stomach on homemade black bean soup. Not good! I felt HORRIBLE Monday night and hence the reason I had no energy and didn’t get to play much Tuesday night. Mackenna made 26 points though! Earned us a dinner! We get a dinner if we make 20 points or more. It’s her record for the year. Woop woop Mackenna!

The worst part about being sick? I’m stopped up and can’t sing. The absolute WORST part. I hate not being able to sing!

Prayer for our basketball team, things are really hard right now. We’re going through some tough patches and we’ve had three girls quit the team. Meaning we’re down to five players. I’m not going into it any farther because it makes me furious but prayer would be appreciated.

Yawn. Its waaay to late to be typing a blog entry, but John and Seth are over and I heard them plotting evil things including silly string and shaving cream if I fell asleep. Seth is 14, John is 16. They’re both on the JV team with Jeremiah and they’re having a Call of Duty tournament right now. I jump in there every once in a while, but not often because I don’t want to dominate tooooo bad you know? -winks- totally school those boys on Call of Duty. I find a secluded area and snipe ‘em all. It’s fantastic. =]

So we lost our basketball game against a public school’s JV team today, only slightly humiliating. It sucked. Horrible game. The only thing that kept me from being in a crap-mood all night was that fact that we had tacos for dinner, which -laughs- makes me smile every time. And there was sweet tea. So life was pretty good.

On the way home from the bball game we had a sing-along with every song genre [genera?] you can imagine. We went from the Numa Numa song to Heartless to Beautiful Girls to Mr. Mom. That’s alternative, hip-hop, and country, all in one sitting! Crazy! And then of course we had to throw in a few favorites. Mine being Replay of course. The best song EVER.

We’ve got three basketball games next week I think. Unless the game Thursday got canceled. Crazy! We’re first in district right now, which is cool. We haven’t lost a district game yet, and I’m not sure about the varsity boys but I think they’re probably in first or second. I’m so super proud of them. They’ve improved so much! They’re doing crazy good.

So now I’m surfing. Watching the guys shoot each other. Watching some videos. And taking the time to type a few lines while they load.

This is pathetic.

I reeeally want some vanilla hot chocolate. Don’t be hatin’ till ya try it! Ask for a hot chocolate with vanilla in it at any coffee shop. UHMAZING! Kid of an acquired taste, but really good!

Trying to go over my arsenal of contraband items just in case I have need for them… silly string, super sweet smelling lotion, tape, shaving cream, warm water, toilet paper… oh yeah, those boys better be worried…

I think I might go to bed. Or stay up and text no one because everyone I know is asleep. =]

I just drank a glass of extremely strong tea to discover it was actually tea concentrate. I should have known when I took a drink and my immediate thought was that Jeremiah must have poured coffee in my glass. My mouth still tastes like I chewed on about ten thousand coffee beans. Maybe…it’s time for bed? Yes… I believe it is…

All By Myself

I’m watching Quest for Camelot with my crew and Bethany. My parents are out for the evening and this was the unanimous choice for movie enjoyment. This movie has to be the Godfather of old-school animations. I loved this cartoon when I was little. [I mean age-wise not height-wise. Shut up Mackenna.] I love the way the hero of the movie, the main man, manages to be a prince charming while being so flawed. I mean take Snow White’s prince, perfect, unblemished, flawless in every aspect. Perfect hair, perfect accent, ideal in everything including being able to give Snow White exactly what she wants and needs. Now take Garrett, the PC [prince charming] of Quest for Camelot. He has greasy hair, shredded clothes [aHA! That’s what captivated Kayley -winks-], and to top it off, he’s blind! He can’t see, he lives by himself in a forest filled with creatures from a writer’s darkest imagination and he STILL manages to be everyone’s favorite character! He saves the day, becomes the hero, and gets the girl! Oh and did I mention? HE SINGS TOO! What skill. To be so flawed and still be top dog. What skill! Oh Lord…I believe I’m in love with a cartoon…

Oh and the villain. Written perfection. Creepy enough to haunt a child’s dreams, yet subtle enough so that they won’t need a parent to comfort them after dreaming about him. The ideal blend of chilling and intimidating to someone 7, 8, or 9 years old. At least, when I was 7 it was creepy enough. Kids these days would eat that movie for breakfast. Ruber was certainly bloodcurdling to someone like me when I was young. I mean, if the twitching of his left eye whenever he gets excited doesn’t freak you out, the fact that he can grab a handful of coals without being singed and create dragons out of smoke should be at least a little startling to some… It’s creepy OK?!?!

Well, my sister has done it. The ultimatum. My cute, innocent, easy-going, laid-back, little sister has broken her ankle. She is Capitan of our JV basketball team and she twisted her ankle by stepping on a rival player’s foot. She sat out the rest of that game and when she still couldn’t put pressure on it by the Varsity games rolled around we knew it couldn’t be just a sprain. A couple of X-ray’s and a creepy decrepit Doctor later and she has a slight fracture of a bone in her ankle. Poor girl! She’s so depressed that she’s out of games for at least a month. I feel horrible for her. Every time we head out to a game and I see tears in her eyes while she has to watch her teammates play I wish It had been me. Oh I wish it had been me! She didn’t deserve that. it shouldn’t have been her. =[ my poor, unfortunate sister chick.

Kayley: Why won't you look at me when I'm talking to you?... Oh. Oh, I didn't realize you were...
Garrett: What? Tall? Rugged? Handsome?
Kayley: Blind.
Garrett: ...You know, I always forget that one.

Oh my GOSH, he has a sense of humor too?!? Someone catch me.

Ahh [BTW Let me clear something up, when I say AHH I mean it like a groan. Like GAH! Not a sigh like ahhh. OK, glad to have that out of the way.] My parents and I have been watching Lost, we’re on disk 2 of the first season. I know, I know, barely into it, but we don’t have TONS of time you know. It’s a horrible show to watch at random times though. It’s such a cliff-hanger. Every episode leaves you hanging. And it doesn’t help that I’ve seen random episodes from random seasons. So I remember something that happened in the second season and wonder if it ties into the what happened in the first season because I haven’t seen so many of the episodes in between, so I don’t know…GAH! It’s so nerve-wracking! -head to brick wall-

I love the song Garrett sings in this movie. It reminds e a lot of my life. Not to sound like a depressed teenager on the verge giving in or something. -laughs- I just like the lyrics. =] Makes me think of my whole "Courtship" battle. -laughs- Battle, I say battle, it's more like just one of those "agree-to-disagree" things.

Ahh friends. Friends are amazing! Joseph and Nigel are in from San Antonio for about 2 weeks and I’ve pretty much been hanging out with them all weekend. They’re staying at the Vaughn’s house, so New Years eve I spent the night with Hannah and laughed my head off all night. I got there half-way through The last Samurai and it was about 15 minutes until midnight after that ended, so the boys turned on iTunes and cranked old Disney songs until midnight. Nigel sang at the top of his lungs, songs from Mulan, Anastasia, and The Lion King… it was so funny! Hannah got some fantastic videos of them. And then we turned on Hitch, which always makes me laugh. =] then we went to bed, seeing as it was about 2:30 a.m. Friday night, Joseph cooked dinner at my house and everyone came over for his amazing pork and garlic potatoes. After that we played apples to apples and Mafia for a while. Nigel skunked at apples to apples and pretty much dominated Mafia so we laughed at him for a while… then yesterday was Micaela’s birthday and they all came over after dinner and we built a fire outside and hung for a while. Then we got cold and decided to play some mafia. Joseph moderated and we had a couple really good games. One in particular that Micaela, Brittany[Mic’s friend] and I dominated as the three Mafia members, and we won. It was awesome! We totally conquered! It was fun. I think Mic had a good time, which was the most important. =] -laughs- Nigel and Joseph crack me up. They’re so funny. And everyone loves them, they go anywhere and you know all their friends here will follow them. So you have Nigel and Joseph coming over and you’ve also got Ben, Daniel, Aaron, Jeffery, and of course Bethany, Hannah and Bekah. So it’s always a blast. I love em all.

So Nigel is a photographer and he took some amazing pictures with my Rebel, check my Picasa for them, there are some really good ones. =] I don’t think I ever mentioned, my little digital Canon croaked. After Family Retreat it just stopped taking pictures. So I’m putting away a bit of every paycheck to get a new one. I have my big camera, my Rebel, but I can’t carry that in my pocket, so I’m saving up for a lil digital. I’m gonna get an orange one. X]

Nigel showed me all these super cool settings on my Rebel that I had never know about. There are some pretty trippy pictures on my Picasa. I especially like the ones of the lightsaber outside. =]

Oh yeah, I know I’ve told some of ya’ll I was considering getting a Facebook. Well that’s not happening, so… um… sorry I guess? -laughs- it’s been decided it’s not a good idea for me to have one, so you guys are going to have to settle for an old-fashioned, totally old-school blog. Sorry. =/

Christmas! Christmas was amazing! Got some super cool stuff, had a fantastic day. Don’t really have a whole lot to say about it, just because most of the funny parts you would have had to have been there to understand, and also basically we did nothing all day. It was fantastic. =] a totally chillaxed day. it was a blast.

So what have I done this week? Wow… I have shopped…worked…cleaned[Totally redid my room, cleaned out about 5 trash bags of crap. It looks crazy different!]…chilled… pretty much had a laid-back week. It’s been pretty nice.

I’ve been struggling. Actually, that’s not a good word for it. truly, I’ve been hopelessly sinking into the black, crushing oblivion of despair that comes with the feeling of disappointment and heartache. Yeah… that’s a little better. Honestly, in this past week I have hurt more than ever in my entire life. I have felt absolutely irrelevant and unimportant, and I’ve felt totally lost. I keep coming back to Psalms 103. It’s been one of the only things keeping me afloat. I know I’m probably being a bit dramatic… But It’s been really bad. I can definitely classify it as the strongest feeling of absolute heartache that I’ve ever had. It’s been hell. It really has. Last Tuesday I cried harder than I can remember crying in years. I literally sat on the couch and sobbed into my Mom’s arms. it seriously looked like I poured a whole bottle of red food coloring into my eyes. I know the question right now is “What in the heck happened to her?” but for the sake of keeping a little bit of my pride I’ll just say I was told that a friend said some things I never thought they’d say. And it hurt. And I’ve come to the realization that I can’t have things that I want. And I can’t compromise. And I will NOT change the person I KNOW I am for the sake of someone else. It sucks. Hardcore sucks. When Joseph and Nigel were over on Friday night we were all sitting at the table and my we talked about what had happened and Ben, Joseph, Nigel, Bethany, Mrs. Vaughn, and my Mom all gave me some fantastic advice. And I remembered that I am only 17, [37 days left, I can go ahead and call myself 17] and I still have a full life ahead of me. And this is something I can overcome. Because I’m stronger than that.

Ahh Christmas time. My FAVORITE time of the year. I;m sitting on the couch clicking away on my cute little laptop, byundled up with a fire burning in the fire place and snow falling outside.

Oh did you catch that last part?

SNOW FALLING OUTSIDE!!! IT’S SNOWING. OUTSIDE. RIGHT OUTSIDE THE WALLS. SNOW.

I’m only slightly excited about this…

Me and my fam are watching It’s a Wonderful Life. Cute movie.

Last Sunday was Christmas at my grandparents. So much fun! And some great pictures. =] my cousin Kerri drew my name and she got me a super cute shirt and an awesome bag! I fell in love with it! And then my grandma got me a spa set that I’ve been wanting. You know, body wash, lotion, hand stuff, the works. I love stuff like that. Smell good stuff! My boss got me a set too, it was a different brand though, but still a vanilla-y smell, my fav. =] so Christmas was good at the gpa’s. Good hang time with my cousin Kerri, Who I only see a few days every year, and a fun couple hour long domino game with my grandma, lil cousins, and my Aunt Vickie. That was fun. =] it was terrific. Fantastic day. And I had a great hair day too! That totally made the whole day better…

Aaaaand for Christmas, Joel got me the complete [so far anyway] set of Harry Potter DVD’s. Yay! Believe it or not, I still haven’t seen the 6^th movie, I was hoping I could get Mack and Han over sometime maybe this weekend to watch it. I’m watching it this weekend, not matter what! –laughs- I can’t wait to see it!

So now it’s Christmas Eve. And I’m just on here to let you all know that I hope you all have a fantastic day! A fantastic week! I’m so excited about tomorrow. I love watching my siblings open gifts. They’re so much fun! So have fun. Be safe. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I can’t stand that line. Wendy grew up! Peter came back for her and she had forgotten about him and grown up! They were not fine!!!! I hate that part of the story. I can’t believe she grew up when he was going to come back for her. Jerk! Selfish idiot.

I don’t know if I ever mentioned it, about a month or so ago I got frustrated with my hair and got my mom to cut me some bangs. I just realized I’ve never said anything about it. Big deal I know you’re thinking, but seriously, my hair is really important to me! I’m not kidding, telling me my hair looks good is one of the biggest complements someone can give me! That and smelling good. When someone tells me I smell good, dude, I could look like crap and be perfectly happy. As long as I smell good. -laughs- I’m such a dork…

Hannah had her b-day partah on Friday, that was fantastic. Me and Katie, Mackenna, Kelci, Audrey, and Hannah hanging out and goofing off all night. We went outside and froze our butts off, came in and drank some hot chocolate by the fire, so cliché but so fun. We played Peaches to Peaches, excuse me, Apples to Apples, and then watched The Day After Tomorrow, probably not a good idea considering how cold we already were, so after that we watched John Tucker Must Die to make us laugh and warm us up a bit. After that was bed. Everyone else left early for the parade so Hannah and I stayed in her bed while her mom made pancakes, and after an amazingly delicious breakfast we took showers and had a jam session, took some goofy pictures, and then spent the rest of the day watching movies with Bethany and Micaela and the rest of the Vaughn’s. So it was an all around fun day. =]

We watched Forever 17, which I loved -laughs- and I’ve got to say one of my favorite parts was when these three girls are all over him, [him being a 40 something man in a 17 year old’s body] and he sits them down and starts to explain, “Girls, when you don’t respect yourselves and your bodies how can you expect anyone else to respect you?” And when the girls just make another seductive comment to him he looks up and says “This is a conversation for some other dad to finish.” And walks off. Gosh, I don’t know why, but it made me laugh so hard! -laughs- probably because I kept thinking of my Dad through the whole thing. -laughs- it was funny.

After basketball practice today Coach gave us her Christmas present for us, it was a gingerbread house decorating contest, and it was so much fun! I decorated mine as a log cabin and won first place [$15 iTunes gift card? Definitely will be used -laughs-] and Katie won 2^nd and Claire 3^rd. It was crazy and fun. there was icing everywhere. -laughs-

Mack’s b-day is tomorrow, I’m trying to figure out if I’m going to do something random and embarrassing like I normally do… yeah I probably will, but I need to figure out where. Hmmm… we have a game tomorrow… Mughaha… I could do something evil! I hope she has a good day though, I’m sure she will. =] because when I see her she’ll wish she’d stayed home. I always do something that embarrasses the snot out of her. Once at intermission I took her on stage during a play we were in and had the audience sing to her. Yeah… that was one of my better ones… that one cost about 5

lives, but hey, I’m like Super Mario, unlimited lives here baby! So Mack, you can beat me up as much as you want. Ha. HA! Just be ready… mughaha.

UGH, I need to go to bed. Check my Picasa, I have pictures of Hannah’s b-day and the gingerbread contest posted. BTW I’ll get you those pictures you wanted a.s.a.p. Han.

Hey guys, Happy Thanksgiving! This is my favorite time of the year. Amazing weather, awesome food, crazy good smells, and everybody seems to be happier around this time. I don’t know if it’s the fact that they get more time off work, or if they’re just looking forward to Christmas and the slow cooker they made sure everyone knew they wanted. =] BTW, I don’t want a slow cooker… that was just an example.

So I’m at my grandparents house, typing away on my little laptop, getting pumped up about my favorite brown sugar cured ham that I know will be present tomorrow. X] Oh yes, it will be amazing. It really cold in here, so I’m curled up in my slouch pants and a hoodie absolutely LOVING the fact that I am cold. I love cold weather. Almost as much as I love music. Its close… very close…

Last weekend I went with Mackenna on her church’s Family Retreat, and it was a blast! It was at beavers bend and it lasted Friday night to Sunday afternoon. It was freezing cold, but had some seriously awesome high points, my favorites being attempting to build and float a raft with the guys, wading/fording the ice cold river/creek with Mack, Spence, Riede, and Micheal[I spelled it right Micheal!], laughing my head off at the guys trying so hard not to let us trip and soak ourselves in the river/creek, staying up until the wee hours of the morning having almost scary in-depth talks with everyone. I saw a different side of a lot of people this weekend. I asked so serious questions and got some serious[er] answers, I answered serious questions, and laughed too. =] I love my friends. So much! So overall it was a very productive and entertaining weekend. I enjoyed it immensely.

On another note, I think we convinced my grandma that there’s no need for giblet gravy this Thanksgiving! I think only 1 or 2 people actually ate it anyway, nasty stuff. it’s gravy made from chicken or turkey guts, to be specific. Naaaasty!

Ok, I think my aunt sandy, asleep in the living room, is sleep-talking…

I went to Frisco with the Vaughn gals and me Madre and Sister last week. That was SOO much fun. Sharing chuckles with Hannah about funny restaurant names, getting almost ALL of my Christmas shopping done, finding some disgusting coffee mugs and trying to keep my sister from seeing them[I failed…], laughing about funny people in the stores, pining over stuff I wanted but couldn’t afford, making sure EVERYONE knew I LOVED that bag and would use it ALL the time if I got it for Christmas[wink wink], it was an awesome day. I got so much shopping done. I’m almost completely done with all my shopping! Yay! I love Christmas. I spend way too much money on people, but I LOVE giving gifts! I love the looks on people’s faces when I give them something I know they specifically wanted, or sharing laughs when I buy a gag gift that totally makes someone’s day. It’s one of my favorite things to do I think… give gifts I mean… an amazing feeling. =]

Life is pretty dang good right now. I’m happy because of the time of year it is of course. I’ve had a pretty good day today, it started with a massive headache that kept coming back even after drugs, but I got in a better mood after getting to my grandparents. I had a heck of a time trying to decide what to pack for thanksgiving day, yes I’m one of the crazy girls that tries on a hundred different outfits, then I got out here and went with my grandpa to see my dad and sibs who had come down earlier because they’re camping every night were here this week[Hard ground? Cold air? No heat? And they wonder why I didn’t want to stay in the tent with them…], my dad my bros my sis and my two cousins Joshua and Jayla are camping, and then we had to go dispose of a dead calf. My grandpa raises cows and he had a 3 day old heifer [girl] who for some reason died this morning and we needed to drag it off. Poor thing, I hate that but there’s nothing I can do I guess. It was a cute little black calf, tiny little hooves. =] I named it Pecan, in honor of the holiday. Is that bad/ ehh… I think it is LOL. Jeze… I’m such a softie. Naming dead cows. Feeling sorry for them and then chucking them off the side of a hill? That IS bad!

I cannot wait for Friday! It’s Hannah’s birthday and I’m so excited to give her her gift! EHEHE!

Ok never mind, my grandma was in there talking to my Aunt. LOL, that was funny.

Yawns, I need to go to bed. I came home from the family retreat on Sunday and slept from 5 p.m. until 6:30 a.m.! And I only woke up then because I had work! Crazy! Someone once told me “Sleep is for dead people”, and I agree, IF I’m doing something worth staying up for LOL, if not then sleep is UH-MAZ-ING.

So my mom was coordinating a wedding yesterday that she asked me and some friends to help in. it ended up being me, Jeremiah, Micaela, Hannah, Jessica, Spencer, and Mackenna that helped and it was a blast! It ended up being a little cold, but we all have stellar hoodies so we were a-ok with it. it was Katie’s older sisters wedding so she was there and changed out of her dress after the wedding to help us clean up. she was so funny, she kept feeling awkward during the dinner, so between courses she would sneak out and hang with us in the kitchen. I laughed at her. -smiles- I got lots of cool pictures too. When they were “making toast” the brides dad stood up and gave a lil’ speech about Abigail, the bride, and it was so sweet. He was talking about how when she was born they started praying for her future husband and their prayers were answered with Richard and how Abigail was his pride and joy and then he was crying and he told Richard he was “giving him his greatest gift.” I had tears running down my face before he was even done! I was in the back next to the cake thinking suck it up Danielle! It was so cute though…

Mack and I wanted to re-dye our hair for the wedding so she spent the night Friday and we stayed up late being crackheads and cracking ourselves up. Then Hannah and Bethany came over early Saturday morning to get a ride with us to the wedding so Hannah bounds into my room, her hilarious self, and wakes Mackenna and I up. I think I threw something at her but I don’t really remember. I had only been asleep for a few hours so everything’s kind of fuzzy… but we had fun at the wedding. Spencer cracks me up. I wish I’d had a notebook I could have written down things he was saying. He is so funny without even knowing it. He and Jeremiah can get crazy but they’re so funny. -laughs- we were taking some boxes back to the house and Spence and I loaded them up in their mule and I told him “I’m driving!” he jumps in the driver’s seat and says “No way!” I laughed and said “No thanks, I’ll walk” he gives me a look and says “Trust me?” I laughed and hopped it the passenger seat. He turns the mule on and floors it, hits a rock in the road, and throws all the boxes out of the back. He braked and we looked back at the boxes scattered everywhere and I just laughed and was like “Nice Spencer.” -laughs- Oh it was funny.

Ya’ll want to know a good, catchy song that you can sing in the shower? [because I KNOW ya’ll are looking for those, I mean you can’t ever get enough of shower songs right?] Halo by Beyonc’e. Awesome song! Another one is Forever by Chris Brown. Holy cow! I love that song! I’ve been singing that song like crazy! Mack introduced me to that one and I’ve been listening to it like, a crazy lot! I really like it. Totally catchy, great beat, awesome lyrics, it’s a good song. =]

I gotta jet. Got co-op classes in the morning, then basketball practice after that. I’m taking Texas History[Because it counts as a class] and Go and Do Likewise but I think I’ve already said something about that… oh well. I felt like crap today so hopefully some good sleep will cure that. Catch ya kids later!

Ok, ok, I know I call myself a member of the Teen-Gurls-Against-Miley club, but I really like Party in the U.S.A.! I’m sorry! It’s just so dang catchy! And you know what else? I don’t feel bad about liking it! I don’t like anything else to do with Miley Cyrus so I’ll allow myself one guilty pleasure. Hmph.

Hmmm it’s Saturday morning…and I have nothing to do. Believe it or not I prefer a Saturday like this as opposed to a busy one. I’m one of those chicks that is totally happy ith a full day of nada and her iPod. Oh yes. That’s my ideal day. The perfect day in my mind is the day that all the people I love are around me and I have my music. Oh, and its cold outside. I mean in my perfect day. It’s sunny with a cool wind that teases you into wearing your hoodie. In my perfect day I would be up around 8:30, pick up all my friends around lunch, go out and eat with them at a Mexican restaurant, bring them back to my house and hang outside jamming to music until dark when we would cram ourselves with my family into our living room and watch an action movie, with the surround sound turned all the way up. That would be a perfect day. Oh yeah, and they could all spend the night so we could stay up into the wee hours of the morning being absolute idiots, swapping jokes, secrets, music, lines… oh yeah. Dude, that would be awesome!

Gabe is over here this morning. Josiah woke me up by bringing him into my room and he yelled “Janell!” yerp. That’s what he calls me. Janell. It’s cute. He was running around with a toy dinosaur after I got up, making it growl and bite people. The problem is that he’s about waist height to Josiah, so he runs over to him and says “’niosaur bite Siah!” and proceed to “bite” Josiah with the toy dinosaur and Josiah give a little boy squeal and yells “WHOA man, watch out Gabe, you almost castrated me!” Yes… Saturday mornings for the Frankland family. I’m telling you guys, we are a lot of fun. As weird as we may look, I promise a day spent with my family isn’t a day wasted.

My grandma broke her ankle last week. So if you guys would be praying for fast recovery for her, she had surgery and had a plate and some bolts out in. big deal! She seriously broke the dang thing! So if you guys would just keep her in your prayers, we would all appreciate it. =] she’s doing good, she’s at home and we’ve been going down there a day or two every week. She only lives 45 minutes away so it’s not bad. But it’s crazy! She broke it bad! -laughs- I don’t even know why I’m laughing… it isn’t funny!

Gosh, you people are boring… Ima go watch O Brother, Where Art Thou? Catch you kids later!

Oh man, I thought my week 3 weeks ago was drama-laced…this week has been even worse. I can’t believe that it’s already been an entire week since my horrible weekend that started last Friday. Believe it or not I’m not going to talk about it because it was basically a weekend of hell. I don’t think I’ve ever cried that much in those 3 days than I have in, like, 3 weeks! It was a horrific weekend. Look up horrific, that’s the perfect word. Seriously, prayer is the only thing you guys can do for me, and I would really appriciate it. And to those of you that I've already asked to be praying I just say thank you, thank you so much. It means way more to me than you know. =] Anyway, Andrew and Amanda Hein and baby A.J. came down for the week, they got here late Thursday night I believe it was, it was a ton of fun having them in. even Joseph came down on Tuesday for a few days, he left on Thursday though. Andrew and Amanda have been married for a little over a year now, and A.J. is 7 months old. He’s so cute! I got some awesome pictures over the weekend. All of the Vaughn’s are great friends with the Hein’s so they were all over here almost all week. Hannah stayed at our house probably 4/5 of the week. It was awesome. =] Andrew and Amanda stayed in my room, I wish they didn’t have to leave but I’m really glad to have my room back. Today is the first time I’ve really been in it in 8 days.-laughs- I ‘recorded’ some of my favorite moments from the week, they might not be funny to you guys but they made me laugh. I’m going to post some of them. =]

So last weekend had its low points and it had its high points. The basketball “kick-off” on Monday was really good, though not really for the basketball part, more the before and after parts. The song Fly Away by Grits is my God song right now, it’s kind of how I feel God is speaking to me right now, there’s a line that says I wish we could fly away, I’d take you somewhere far away and that’s what I feel God is saying to me right now. Telling me that right now at this point in my life I need to focus on him. That’s hard but I’m working on it. =] I like to answer the question How’s Life? with a strong Terrific! but right now life is just OK. Tolerable. Bearable. Endurable I guess. It’s a little sucky in parts, and really good in others, so that makes it endurable instead of just plain Not Good. I’m working through it though, there’s a ray of hope shining through, to sound like a song lyric. X]

I hate growing up. Certain points in growing up. I really hate ‘em. But then other things about growing up are awesome. Absolutely awesome. There’s a happy medium. Somewhere in there, there’s a happy medium. Just a thought.

You know that song “Anticipation”? I don’t even know if that’s the actual name, but you know what song I’m talking about. The old soft rock one, “Anticipation...oooo…” That’s my theme right now. I so cannot wait for next week. So much awesome stuff happening. We’ve got a basketball “kick off” meeting, which doesn’t make any sense at all because there is no kicking involved in basketball unless it’s the kind that comes with a bad temper and usually gets you “kicked off” the court -laughs-, that’s on Monday and I’m hoping that there will be time for us playah’s to have a scrimmage. And then Tuesday we start basketball, then Wednesday is enrichment registration and It’s at the park so it’ll be really crazy -laughs- and then I don’t really know what else, but the rest of the week is packed -laughs-, it’ll be fun though! “Anticipation…”

At the hospital today visiting a friend of the family, my huge friend Greg[he’s like 6’5” I swear and married, he actually lives in my neighborhood] was cracking me up so bad. He acts like a teen, it’s so funny! Today his dad was complaining about not being able to look at something on the internet while he was in the hospital and Greg gives him a weird look and tells him “Dad, just use your iTouch and get on the internet, this is the 21 century.” And his dad tells him “Well they don’t have Wi-Fi here.” And Greg gives this look of disbelief and says “They don’t have Wi-Fi?! That’s gay!!!!!” And seriously, coming from a 30 something man, it was hilarious! Man, I laughed so hard.

So Friday night Hannah came over and we chilled out for a while, swapping music, and then we cleaned my room. See, that’s why I love that gurl! Because she comes over and helps me clean my room -laughs-. And we didn’t just clean it… man we like sanitized the dang thing. I swear we took everything off the walls, shelves, floor, and we ended up having about 4 trash bags full of crap we threw away. It was awesome -laughs- my room looks naked now though, I’m probably going to get another Joker poster, can’t ever have enough of those dudes. =] You are my hero Hannah Vaughn.

So I actually typed all that yesterday but I fell asleep on my laptop and never posted it. so here’s the rest of the entry. =]

Today in the store my lil’ bro cracked me up, it’s me and j-man getting some groceries when he turns and says to me, “Danielle! I just saw a dude with the coolest hoodie on! It was all covered in flames and…flaming and stuff… and the dude was cool. He was black… which -insert laugh- I thought was awesome…” Oh my gosh I was laughing so hard. Just the way he said it. “Which…ha… I thought was awesome.” Oh the little things in life that make our day.

I’ve probably got more I want to say, but I’m attempting to watch a movie and type at the same time and…it’s not working. -laughs- I’ll post sometime soon I guess. =]

…Just dance. Gonna be okay… Dance. Dance. Dance. Just dance.. [my answer to everything -laughs-]

Whooo… This has been a drama laced week… Wait, strike that and make it MONTH. It’s just been crazy. Good crazy… And bad crazy too… Actually -laughs- the best word I can think of to describe this past month is AUGHHHH! But it sounds cooler when I say it rather than type it… I feel kind of like I’m ironing out a bunch of kinks in life. And my iron is malfunctioning. -laughs- But that’s also life and I’m not dealing with anything no one else hasn’t dealt with before. =] It works out in the end. So I’m told.

Yesterday, being Saturday, there was a baby shower for a lady and it was at Hannah’s house so I went with my mom and Hannah and I ended up sneaking chocolate covered strawberries and cupcakes into her room and staying there the entire time -laughs- We had much needed gurl talk and a jam session so it was sweet. I miss that chick. So after that I came home and Micaela and I helped mom make a red velvet cake because today, being Sunday, is my mom’s birthday and red velvet is her fav. Aaand after that I think I pretty much chilled out, played with Heath, looked up some stuff, just chilled. That was yesterday, and last night we watched E.T. -laughs- that movie is so weird. And then we watched Gladiator, which I had never seen actually. I liked it a lot, I needed a movie with action in it -laughs- I fell asleep last time I watched Matrix, I needed a new big action movie. =]

We start school back on the 14^th of September, I did a little bit of school all through the summer, but it wasn’t a bunch. I’m glad we don’t start back soon though, I mean I’m kind of ready to get back on the road with stuff, but I’m glad I still have a little bit of a break.

So work it going good, life is good, um… if I added it up right -laughs- then I’ll be 17 in 122 days… that’s kind of weird… yerp… I haven’t blogged in so long. Enrichment starts back up in like, 2 or 3 weeks, so does basketball, don’t know exactly how I feel about that… kind of mixed feelings I guess. I want to play again, but it took so much of my time, and working two jobs and starting school back and doing enrichment… I don’t know -laughs- it’s going to be a little crazy… OH YEAH! I totally forgot! You guys aren’t going to believe this, are you ready? My family is adopting! Like, I’m not kidding! From a country called Kazakhstan. The kid will probably be around 1-3 years old, and we’re thinking a girl, though I think I’d rather have a boy… but honestly -laughs- I don’t care. But it’s like, EXCITING! We’ve sent in the paperwork, now the hard part is that we have to wait for months probably while the adoption house sets everything up. Seriously, are ya’ll pumped? I AM! I’m going to be the oldest of 5! Weird!! Oh yeah, Jeremiah is taller than me. Changing subject off of that now because I’m still a little ticked. This is my not-amused-face. >=| yeah back to adoption though, -laughs- it’s going to be so awesome. I can’t wait.

Hmm… anything else to talk about? Nooooo I don’t think so… um, birthdays I guess…

“And I thought my jokes were bad…” You got excited for a minute there didn't ya?

I don’t ever want to hear a boy complain about puberty and their voice changing again. We have 4 new chickens, and they’re in “teenage” level right now. And they sound absolutely hilarious! There are two roosters and they crow all the time, but it’s so sad and pathetic, it sounds like someone’s strangling them! Guys think it sounds funny when their voices change, well it’s nothing compared to a rooster! No more complaining to me, God could have made it so ya’ll sound like teenage roosters. Besides, every girl I know, including me, doesn’t think it sounds bad at all for your voice to crack. Don’t stress about it so much. As a matter of fact I like it when guys’ voices crack! Don’t ask me why, I just think it sounds neat.

I Maroon 5’s song I Won’t Go Home Without You. I like the beat. Believe it or not! That’s not usually the kind of beat I like, but it’s a neat song. The music video is sappy though. It’s cool until the end and it just… ends. It’s just like… over and it leaves you feeling depressed! Makes me[wonder] mad! Seriously though, I really like the song.

So I had this recent conversation with a guy about finding the “one person” God has for you. Because I believed that it wasn’t right to go searching for someone, trying people out until you found your “type.” It kind of made me feel like that basically compared girls and guys to like… brands of soda. Gotta try each one out to find the kind I like best. Well how the heck does that work? It really frustrated me! The more I thought about it I got more and more angry so I asked my mom about it. To see what her view on it was. And Bam-Slam “Thank you ma’am!” she said basically the same thing he did! Some important facts were different in her opinion, but I was so miffed! I was seriously ticked! I guess I was thinking that it kind of seemed like a slam to God if you went “out looking” for someone, I mean [I hate to throw a bible verse at you] Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I guess I always took that as meaning, “I’ve got everything under control. You don’t have to worry about anything.” I mean, a hope and a future? That means that everything I want, a good guy, kids, my own house, a perfect life, God’s going to provide all that for me… right? I thought that going out and looking on your own was kind of like saying, “I don’t trust you God, I’ll handle this on my own.” That’s what it seems like it is right? Wrong! I didn’t realize it until after my conversation-cough-argument [that I LOST dang snap…] but that verse does not mean he’s going to give me everything I want. I still don’t agree with trying people out. Yes, I [now] believe that I’m going to have to find someone, I mean God’s not going to drop a ribbon-wrapped guy on my front door with a note that says “To: Danielle Frankland, Here’s your Prince Charming!” It won’t be that easy. But I also don’t believe that I need to go around dating people, trying them out, breaking hearts, playing around, having fun 24/7, doing my own thing to find the “guy of my dreams.” I don’t think it’s worth it to risk doing something really stupid all for the sake of finding the guy for me. But I understand now, it’s not getting handed to me on a silver platter. I look back now and think on what it was I believed and I’m like… HAHA! You idiot! Did you really think it was going to be that easy? You dork. But seriously, it weird that I thought that. I honestly think that I’d never thought of it in that certain way enough to realize how stupid my thinking was. So I guess, in conclusion, I understand what you’re saying mom, and what you’re saying, un-named dude from who this conversation started. I get it now. Though there are still some things you both said that I’m shaky on, not quite sure if I agree with that. But thats a different argument, a different time eh? =] En garde.
